whatlookslike crazyI can’t believe it’s been 3 months since I participated in Teaser Tuesday.  I am back though!

This week I’m Reading What Looks Like Crazy by Charlotte Hughes.  I had to order this book after reading the second book in the series, Nutcase. Of course I didn’t realize it was a series, or I wouldn’t have started with book 2.  Now I’m playing catchup. :)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Should Be Reading, where you

  • Grab your current read.
  • Let the book fall open to a random page.
  • Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
  • You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
  • Please avoid spoilers!

I popped up the book to page 104-105 and found these two sentences:

Obviously Bitsy had not taken my warning seriously. “My neighbor doesn’t like me,” I said.

Yes…there’s some neighbor rivalry going on.

If you are reading right now, you should participate in Teaser Tuesday. Be sure to go over to Should Be Reading and post your link too.  I’m also putting Mr. Linky here (if it works) and you can leave your link here at A Novel Mind (must comment to leave link).

Trying MckLinky for the first time….

Tuesday Teaser – April 28

This week for Tuesday Teaser, I am reading another book that I just couldn’t put it down, and how lucky for me that it was during a time when the house was quiet and had no distractions as it was storming and the satellite TV and Internet both went out – The Noticer by Andy Andrews.

So I flipped to pages 88 and 89:

“What people don’t know about George Washington Carver is that while he was nineteen and a student at Iowa State University, he had a dairy sciences professor who allowed his own six-year-old boy to go on botanical expeditions every weekend with this brilliant student.”

This is the middle of a quote by the main character Jones.  Watch closely for a review of this book tonight or tomorrow (and you’re chance to win a copy).

This week for Tuesday Teaser, I thought I’d tell you of a book that I feel “addicted,” a book that I am so anxious to get to the end that chores and parenting are at a minimum – American Wife by Curtis Sittenfield.

This week I flipped to page 359 (which I’ve already read so I know what’s going on)

After the party, I started to page through a magazine, feeling that it would be responsible to know exactly what Megan had seen. I got to a spread of what I suppose was meant to be a “classy” woman: In the first shot, she was emerging from a limousine, wearing a fur coat and heels andnothing else; in the next, she was standing inside some soft of ballroom with her back to the camera, her buttocks on display, looking archly over one shoulder and holding up a flue of champagne.

Wow. That’s a long two sentences, huh?  That second one seemed to just keep going and going.

I will be finishing this book today.  Like I said, it’s been addictive since I started reading it.  Tune in tomorrow for a full review. (note: link will be active tomorrow)

Oops I skipped a week posting last week as I was enjoying my Spring Break and not really spending any time online, but I’m back this week and excited to share my Teaser Tuesday this week.  I’m sort of cheating I guess as I just finished a book and haven’t officially started another so I’m going to post an excerpt from the book I just finished – Plum Spooky by Janet Evanovich.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Should Be Reading, where you

  • Grab your current read.
  • Let the book fall open to a random page.
  • Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.

  • Please avoid spoilers!

As I flipped open Plum Spooky, I ended up on pages 102 and 103 and found this interesting teaser:

“Gotta go,” I said to Diesel. “Morelli needs help with a naked woman.”

If you’ve read any of the Stephanie Plum books, you know she tends to find herself in the strangest situations with even crazier outcomes, and this proved to be one of those incidents.

It’s another Tuesday again and we are getting close to our official launch here at A Novel Mind. In fact it’s NEXT WEEK! I’m still slowly reading Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, but I am coming back and forth to it so I decided to share with you the other book I’m reading – If Mama Don’t Laugh, It Ain’t Funny by Lucy Adams.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Should Be Reading, where you

This week I flipped to pages 42 and 43, and found the following two sentences:

Then all became clear: If we couldn’t fight ‘em, join ‘em! We spilled our milk, yelled every syllable we uttered, and asked the kids to pass the salt, again and again, even when it sat right in front of our plates.

It’s another Tuesday again and we are getting close to our official launch here at A Novel Mind. I’m starting a new play this week for Teaser Tuesday.  You’ll probably see this one for a few different weeks as I plan on reading this in spurts and not all at once.  I’ll be reading this in my freshman English class, but not until after Spring Break so I’ll be reading a little each week.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Should Be Reading, where you

I’m reading Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, A Play in Three Acts, by Richard Abbott, and as I open the book it falls to pages 34 and 35.

On line 7, Dr Jekyll tells Diana as he “rises, runs his hand inside his collar as though choking” and “his body begins to twitch

I feel strange, Diana. You must go Diana.

I haven’t gotten this far yet as I just started it tonight (and I’m reading critically and taking notes), but I think I know what’s about to happen – how about you?

I’m starting a new book this week.  It’s a book that I picked up in a bargain bin so it’s not an author I’m familiar with, but I’m a sucker for a cheap book.  It’s called The Matter of Grace by Jessica Barksdale Inclan.

I thought I’d start by sharing a snippet of this book in  Teaser Tuesday at Should Be Reading.

TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:

  • Grab your current read.
  • Let the book fall open to a random page.
  • Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
  • You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
  • Please avoid spoilers!

And she liked this amnesia of being too specific. She wanted to stay here, in this room that let her forget the particulrs of a man, that let her move into this perfect body and forget.

Page 126 – Not sure what’s going on as I just started it, but sounds like it might be an ok book.  I’ll be sure to do a review when I finish it.

I’m still working on getting everything set up around here, but wanted to start making just a few general posts as I get everything off the ground.  One way I’m going to start is by joining in some memes and Book Challenges.  We’ll start with Teaser Tuesday at Should Be Reading.

I’ve just started the 6th book in the Women’s Murder Club series by James Patterson – 6th Target.

Chapter 16 sentences:

  1. But…..he served at the Presidio for two years.
  2. “He got into the army after being in an nuthouse? Jacobi asked.
