I’ve read most of them twice and I plan to reread the entire series this summer so I can do a complete series review for you.

I won’t officially start posting my progress on my book challenges until after our Grand Opening Party, but I wanted to go ahead and post about another challenge that I will be participating in this year – the 2009 Chick Lit Challenge. There was a time when I almost looked down on the term “chick lit” because I thought of it as more of the romance genre that my mom read. *gag me* But then I met Stephanie Plum and all of that changed. All of a sudden I realized that chick lit was not the “sex books” that my mom had read all of my life.

And now I’ve expanded and am more than happy to know about more and more chick lit authors – besides Janet Evanovich, I’ve also fell in love with Sophie Kinsella. I hope to pick up another author this year. Any suggestions?

But back to the challenge. To participate in the challenge you are supposed to pick 10 books you will read during 2009. It’s ok if they overlap another challenge and if you change your mind and want to eliminate or add a book at any time, that’s ok.

Yes, I know we are over a month into 2009, but with the creation of the new blog I want to join some book challenges. The first challenge I’m going to commit to is the TBR (To Be Read) 2009 Book Challenge. What does this involve? It involves picking 12 books that you will read before December 31, 2009. Since I’ve started late, this means I better get to reading, huh?

The 12 books I’m going to commit to are a mixture of books I want to read, young adult books I think I should read, and just some that I’m going to read “just because.”

Inkheart by Cornelia Funke

Inkspell by Cornelia Funke

Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke

Twilight by Stephanie Meyer

Plum Spooky by Janet Evanovich

7th Heaven by James Patterson

Nights in Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares

If Mama Don’t Laugh, It Ain’t Funny by Lucy Adams

Cell by Stephen King

The Matter of Grace by Jessica Barksdale Inclan

The Good Guy be Dean Koontz

Extras (in case I start one and can’t get involved):

*Play Dirty by Sandra Brown

*The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks

Do you love to read? (I’m guessing so since you are here!) If so, consider committing to this great reading challenge. And please push me to make sure I get mine read.
